GE/Sermatech Joint Venture Subsidiary Opens During Asian Aerospace '98 in Singapore

February 24, 1998 -- SINGAPORE - Airfoils Technologies International, LLC, a joint venture between GE Aircraft Engines and Sermatech International, opens its Airfoil Technologies Singapore subsidiary on Wednesday, February 25, during Asian Aerospace '98 in Singapore.

Airfoil Technologies Singapore is a 65,000-square-foot facility capable of refurbishing more than one million compressor airfoils per year with extremely quick turnaround times. As many as 100 new workers will be employed by the plant, which is located in Singapore's Loyang Industrial Estate.

Established in 1995, Airfoils Technologies International LLC remanufactures and refurbishes cold-section compressor airfoils for aircraft engines and for aeroderivative engines for marine and industrial applications. The company maintains its headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio, U.S.A., and operates plants in Mentor, Ohio, U.S.A., Compton, California, U.S.A., and Ripley, Derbyshire, U.K., as well as the Singapore facility, in order to respond to customer needs in as timely a manner as possible.
