May 30, 1995 -- EVENDALE, Ohio - GE Aircraft Engines (GEAE) has placed an order with Rybinsk Motors for accessory gearbox brackets, marking the first time that GEAE has ordered finished parts from a manufacturer in the Commonwealth of Independent States.

The brackets retain engine accessories on the accessory gearbox of CF6-80C2 engines, which power such civil aircraft as the Boeing 747, McDonnell Douglas MD-11, and Airbus Industrie A310.

GEAE, headquartered in Evendale, produces turbofan, turboshaft, and turboprop engines that power fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft in both civil and military service, as well as aeroderivative engines for marine and industrial applications.

Rybinsk Motors, a diverse manufacturing company, has been a significant force in the nation's aviation industry since 1924. Rybinsk Motors D-30KU-154 and D-30KU turbofan engines power, respectively, the Tupolev TU-154M trijet and Ilyushin IL-62M four-engine civil aircraft, and the D-30KP turbofan powers the Ilyushin IL-76 four-engine military transport.

"We are pleased to be joined with Rybinsk in this program, which represents another in a growing list of cooperative efforts involving GEAE and C.I.S. industries," said Tracey Homburg, GEAE director of Market Development - C.I.S.
