Stephen J. Sedita is chief financial officer (CFO) for GE Aviation
Mr. Sedita joined GE in 1973 as part of the Financial Management Program with GE Supply Company. In 1976, he was named controller of GE-Datel, a multinational electronic component manufacturer. Mr. Sedita held several increasingly responsible financial assignments with GE Plastics in Europe and the U.S. starting in 1985.
In 1993, he came to Louisville, Ky., the global headquarters for GE Appliances as manager of Finance. He was promoted to an officer of the Company in 1996. He was appointed CFO of Consumer Products in 2002, CFO of Consumer & Industrial in 2003 and CFO of GE Industrial in 2005. Mr. Sedita was appointed to his current position in February 2007.
Steve is a member of the MABE Board of Directors. In 1999, Steve was co-chairman of the Employee Community Fund drive for GE Appliances. He served two terms as a member of the Board of the Louisville Metro United Way and is a board member and Treasurer of Maryhurst, an agency for abused children.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Mr. Sedita graduated from the University of Bridgeport with a bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting. Prior to graduation from college he held various positions with GE Capital in Stamford, Connecticut.
