Herb D. Depp is vice president, GE Aviation Operations. In this role, he is responsible for integrated financial solutions for airline customers, spanning and drawing on resources from GE Aviation, GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS), and other GE businesses.
Prior to accepting his new role in 2001, Mr. Depp served as vice president, marketing and sales for GE - Aviation where he was responsible for integrating marketing and sales functions to grow the business and enhance support for GE's customers worldwide.
Prior to joining GE, he was president of GECAS, where he managed a worldwide business focused on meeting the aviation industry's financial and operational needs.
Before joining GECAS, Mr. Depp was president of Polaris Aircraft Leasing, where he had served in key marketing and executive positions within the company since 1980. He was previously sales manager for Douglas Aircraft Company, responsible for sales of DC-9 and DC-10 aircraft throughout the United States.
Mr. Depp earned a bachelor of science degree in geology from California State University at Fresno and a master's degree in personnel management from Central Michigan University. An officer in the United States Air Force, he was a pilot and member of the Presidential Squadron. He retired from the U.S. Air Force Reserve as a Lieutenant Colonel.
